“Tehut-Nine is Jamaican born. His first inspiration to write came from his eldest brother Emile “Atiba Ras” Ivy. He has been writing for over 9 years. Tehut-9 prides himself on being a thinker - one who inspires others to think about things they weren’t even thinking about thinking. He has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from SUNY Oswego.

Over the years Tehut-Nine has established himself at some of New York City’s most prominent cafes and poetry symposiums, such as The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, where he was a member of the Nuyorican’s 2000 National Slam Team.

He has been featured at The World Famous Apollo Theatre - where he was a member of the 5 time championship Poetic Battles Apollo slam team. He has performed on the Apollo Amateur Wednesday Night show at least 4 times. In addition, Madison Square Garden, Bell Atlantic (Verizon), The Black Expo, and various Universities including the SUNY colleges, Syracruse Univ, Univ of New Hampshire, Delaware State Univ, Columbia Univ, Harvard Univ, etc.

Tehut-Nine is the author of The Fire In Me and Mental Eye-roglyphics, two dynamic books of poetry which he self published. Tehut-Nine plans to release his debut spoken world album “MIND MAGICIAN” in February 2001.

He has toured Europe doing performances in Europe and abroad. He has opened for various speakers as well as shared the stage with entertainers such as M.C. Lyte, Busta Rhymes, Mos Def, Mary J. Blige, D’Angelo, Frances Cress Wesling, Bobby Seales, Maulana Karenga, Cornel West, Reverand Al Sharpton, Alton Maddox and Sistah Souljah.” - Tehut Nine
